In short, because God adopted me. Scripture tells us that God adopted us through Jesus, and it is my life's passion to pass that blessing on to others though evangelism and child adoption. There is no greater gift than to be able to call Him, "Abba, father", and to raise children up to know Him.
Our decision to adopt really came to pass, however, after Tim and I worked with so many orphans overseas. After a deployment Tim and I had a long talk and ended it committed to do something more permanent about the world's orphan crisis beyond tossing these children candy from trucks and handing out tee-shirts. We sponsored children, but even that didn't seem like enough. We soon after began the adoption process.
