That depends upon the child. Families who are waiting for a healthy caucasian infant here in America may wait years. China's wait times are up to about 3 years, I hear. However, there are older children and special needs children available for adoption today. There are children of minority race here in America available with very short wait times. The Philippine program wait times are 18-24 months; Ethiopia's are less than a year, Haiti's are even shorter. It really varies by country and the child you are waiting for.
